- Be a member of the Kashmiri Pandit community — by birth, marriage, or recognised lineage
- Have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your jurisdiction
- Not have been previously suspended or banned from the App for community-conduct violations
We rely on your self-declaration of Kashmiri Pandit roots in good faith, supplemented by identity-verification (KYC) where required for community-sensitive features.
4. Account creation and security
When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your information as it changes
- Choose a strong, unique password and keep it confidential
- Use only one account per person (no duplicate or pseudonymous accounts)
- Not impersonate any other person or misrepresent your community affiliation
- Not share your account credentials, OTP, or session with anyone
- Notify us immediately at contactus@iqwat.com of any unauthorised access or suspected breach
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Iqwat is not liable for any loss arising from your failure to keep credentials confidential.
5. Identity verification (KYC)
Certain App features require identity verification (KYC) to maintain community trust and prevent impersonation. By submitting KYC documents, you confirm that:
- The documents are genuine, authentic, and current
- The documents belong to you and reflect your true identity
- You consent to our identity-verification partner processing the documents on our behalf
- You understand that submission of forged or altered documents may result in immediate account termination and legal action
See Section 6 of the App Privacy Policy for how KYC documents are processed, stored, and retained.
6. SMS communications
By providing your mobile number and ticking the SMS consent checkbox during registration, you agree to receive transactional SMS messages from Iqwat for OTP verification, security alerts, and account-related notifications. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP; reply HELP for assistance. Full details in Section 5 of the App Privacy Policy.
Note: opting out of all SMS will prevent OTP verification, which may block you from logging in from new devices or making sensitive account changes.
7. Community conduct
The Iqwat App is built on community trust. By using it, you agree NOT to:
- Post or share content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, or harmful to others
- Send unsolicited promotional messages, spam, or chain communications to other members
- Misrepresent your identity, roots, family details, or affiliation
- Use the App to commit fraud, identity theft, or financial scams
- Solicit money, gifts, or favours under false pretences (e.g. fake matrimonial profiles, false business proposals)
- Take political positions on the Kashmir issue or use the App as a platform for political activism (the Foundation is apolitical on Kashmir)
- Scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract data about other members
- Interfere with the App’s security, infrastructure, or normal operation
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App’s source code
- Use bots, automation, or any non-human means to interact with the App
Violations may result in warning, suspension, or permanent removal from the community at our sole discretion (see Section 11).
8. Content you upload
You retain ownership of content you upload (profile entries, messages, photos, family details). By uploading, you grant Iqwat a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, display, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the App and providing the community service to you and other members.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You confirm that you own it or have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or violate any law. We may remove content that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe is harmful to the community.
9. Iqwat's intellectual property and your licence to use the App
The Iqwat App — including its name, logo, chinar leaf identity, interface, code, graphics, illustrations, audio, video, and underlying software — is owned by Iqwat Foundation or its licensors and protected by Indian and international intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on your personal devices for non-commercial community participation, subject to these terms. You may not:
- Modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, or create derivative works
- Sell, rent, lease, or sublicense any part of the App
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices
- Use the App in any commercial product or service without our written permission
10. App features and availability
Features available in the App may include — but are not limited to — community directory, professional networking, matrimony, mentorship matching, event listings, content feeds, and direct messaging. Features may be added, modified, or removed at our discretion.
We strive to keep the App available 24×7, but we do not warrant uninterrupted access. The App may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to factors beyond our control.
11. Account suspension and termination
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate your account if:
- You violate these terms or the App Privacy Policy
- You provide false information or fail KYC verification
- You engage in conduct harmful to the community (see Section 7)
- We receive credible reports of fraud, abuse, or misconduct
- We are required to do so by law
You can voluntarily delete your account at any time from within the App or by emailing contactus@iqwat.com. On termination, Sections 8 (your content licence to us — limited to retention permitted by law), 9 (IP), 13 (liability), 14 (indemnity), and 17 (governing law) survive.
12. Disclaimers
The App is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any defects will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information displayed in the App.
Community interactions (matrimony, networking, mentorship, business connections) are between you and the other member. We provide the platform; we are not party to any relationship, agreement, or transaction that arises between members through the App. We do not endorse or guarantee any member.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Iqwat Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses — arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any direct damages will not exceed INR 5,000 (Indian Rupees Five Thousand only) or the amount, if any, you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is higher.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Iqwat Foundation and its representatives from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these terms, (b) your misuse of the App, (c) content you upload, (d) any interaction or dispute with another member, or (e) your violation of any applicable law or any third-party right.
15. Third-party links and services
The App may link to or integrate with third-party services (e.g. payment gateways, identity-verification providers, SMS providers, social platforms, news articles). We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of those third parties. Your interactions with them are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
16. App updates and changes to these terms
We may release App updates, including security patches, bug fixes, and new features. Some updates may be required for continued use of the App. You agree to install required updates promptly.
We may revise these Terms of Use from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be notified inside the App. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
